showing you the Eastern Ethiopian cultural and natural sights in Harar and Awash National Park.
In Awash National Park you will visit many species of birds and mammals like the
Besa Oryx and Summering Gazelles. You will see culturally magnificent structures such as
the 4th century rock hewn church built by Abreha Atsebeha.

Day 01:

Addis Ababa
Arrive Addis Ababa Bole International Airport then transfer to Ghion hotel for overnight.
|

Day 02:
|
Awash National Park
After breakfast drive from Addis to Awash National Park through the awe-inspiring
crater lakes of Debrezeit for birding. En route further to Nazareth, visit the
famous Sodere hot spring, which has got curative power. Overnight Awash Sebatkilo
in the local hotel.

Day 03:
|
Awash National Park
After an early breakfast drive to the park to visit many species of birds and mammals like the
Besa Oryx, Summering Gazelles, etc. In the mean time visit the Awash falls and hot springs.
Overnight local hotel.

Day 04:
|
Harar
After an early breakfast drive to Harar through Awash National Park and beautiful scenery.
En route, visit the church of Kulubi Gabriel. Overnight Belayneh hotel.

Day 05:
|
Harar
On this day visit both the colorful Muslim and Christian markets
known for basketry, the museum, and the traditional Hararie houses
situated within the famous walled city. In the evening visit the hyena
man while he feeds the hungry hyenas (wonderful experience).

Day 06:
|
Asayta
After an early breakfast drive to Asayta through Yaundi Rassa National Park.
Overnight local hotel/camping.

Day 07:
|
Asayta
On this day visit the Afar people and their village.
|
|
Day 08:
|
Afdera
Drive to Afdera through the desert area of the Afar region. Overnight camping.
|
|
Day 09:
|
Ertalie
Drive from Afdera to Ertalie along the desert and sandy road. Overnight camping.
|
|
Day 10:
|
Ertalie – Dalol – Ertalie
A day excursion (camel caravan) to Dalol Depression, the lowest place in the world (116 meter below see level).

Day 11:
|
Berahile
Drive to the small town of Berahile. En route, visit the local people traveling
from Dalol to Tigray region with their camels carrying salt. Overnight local hotel/camping.

Day 12:
|
Mekele
After an early breakfast drive to Mekele via Wukro, where you will visit
the 4th century rock hewn church built by Abreha Atsebeha. Overnight Axum hotel.
|
|
Day 13:
|
Addis Ababa/Departure
Transfer to Mekele Airport to fly to Addis Ababa. Optional night departure
